COMMUNITY EVENT
Join the UAMS Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education for "Mind Your Grief," an interactive workshop designed to create a safe, compassionate space to explore the many faces of grief and discover meaningful ways to navigate your healing journey. Grief is a universal human experience, yet it is often misunderstood or rushed. This workshop emphasizes that grief is not a problem to be solved, but a process to be honored.
Understanding Grief’s Rhythms: Learn about different types, symptoms, and the non-linear TEAR model (To Accept, Experience, Adjust, Reinvest) for grief work.
Grounding & Regulation Tools: Practice simple techniques, such as breathwork, to support emotional balance and self-care.
Community Connection: Reflect on grief within a supportive community setting and understand the vital role of supportive relationships in healing.
Supporting Others: Gain practical guidance on compassionate language—what to say (and what to avoid) when supporting grieving friends and family.
Free Event & Registration: Offered free of charge. Register online or contact scinfo@uams.edu / 479-751-3043 for details.
